Deepening Core Technology! JPT Laser Attends the 15th National Laser Processing Industry Forum and delivers a keynote speech
From July 10th to 12th, 2024, the 2024 China (Suzhou) Photon Industry Development Conference and the 15th National Laser Processing Industry Forum were held grandly in Suzhou. The theme of this conference was centered around "Laser+" empowering industrial applications, combining the advantages of new industrialization applications, and building a platform for intelligent convergence and industry exchange. The aim was to explore new approaches and models for "Photon" manufacturing technology and industry development.
During the conference, Zhang Tianchen, the Key Account Manager of JPT Laser, delivered a keynote speech titled "Laser Innovation Technology Driving Battery Manufacturing Upgrading". He deeply explored the application and advantages of lasers in new energy vehicle manufacturing, providing a direction for technological upgrading in intelligent manufacturing of new energy vehicles.
China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market has experienced significant growth in the past decade and has become the world's largest market for production and consumption of new energy vehicles. The rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry has also brought about reforms in manufacturing processes. Balancing economic efficiency with low-carbon economy has become a goal pursued by enterprises. The reform of manufacturing processes in the new energy vehicle industry is of great significance in reducing urban air pollution and carbon emissions. It is also an important part of China's goal to achieve carbon neutrality.
As China's first commercial manufacturer of pulsed width-adjustable high-power fiber lasers, JPT Laser adheres to the positioning of "Laser+" by focusing on upstream core laser technology and key laser modules to address key issues related to laser materials and components. JPT Laser continuously innovates its technology and develops a series of lasers to help industry customers improve the performance and quality of their new energy manufacturing products, reduce production costs, and enhance economic efficiency.
As an important component of new energy vehicles, lithium batteries are their main power source directly affecting their driving range and power performance. Defects such as splashing, pores, and cracks during lithium battery welding directly affect their safety performance.
JPT's next-generation adjustable output beam (AOB) laser is an optimized combination of optics, mechanics, electronics, and software. It achieves dual coaxial beam outputs controlled independently through a single fiber optic cable. The output beam shape can be flexibly adjusted to achieve different modes such as Gaussian beam, annular beam, or hybrid beam. The power distribution between the central beam and outer ring beam can be independently controlled. In laser welding processes, the depth of fusion mainly depends on the central beam while the annular beam serves as a preheating function. The annular beam significantly expands the keyhole opening size at its top part while stabilizing the fusion pool and reducing temperature gradients, effectively suppressing porosity and splashing during welding processes. The dual-beam output mode allows almost zero splashing during welding with no pores on welded surfaces, uniform depth of fusion along with high consistency in appearance smoothness. As a result, it significantly improves surface forming capabilities as well as process stability while greatly enhancing product yield.
In the future, JPT Laser will continue to focus on upstream core laser technology to create value for customers by providing power sources for advanced manufacturing industries.
